On September 28th, 2010 the OpenOffice.org community of volunteers announced they were setting up a foundation [4] to drive the future growth of the project (see the presse release [5]).
The "Document Foundation" is in charge of the centralization of resources and project management. A beta version of the free office application suite, "Libre Office", is available on the foundation's website [6].
April welcomes the creation of the Document Foundation and sees it as a key symbol of the values of openness and freedom promoted by Free Software.
